Director Rukshana Kapasi (RGN, BA Hons, MSc, DM, MBTI)
Rukshana has worked extensively in the NHS, local authority and voluntary sector developing practical and strategic skills in research, health promotion, joint training, user involvement work, leadership development and facilitating strategic change.Rukshana has published widely in the field of diversity in healthcare systems and has a keen commitment to continuous self development. She has a research based Masters and is currently completing the MBA programme with the Open University.Rukshana has an active family life and does voluntary work for a national children's charity
Principal Associate Mike Silvera (DM; MSc)
Mike has extensive experience of working within the health and social care sectors. He has pioneered work that is now adopted as standard practice within many parts of the NHS in relation to the implementation of ethnic monitoring and patient profiling, development of interpreting services, developing contracts, service specifications and quality standards to improve services for minority ethnic communities.Mike has done extensive work applying a range of action research methods, and consultation technologies to facilitate changes in local services and joint planning.
Senior Associate Yohannes Fassil (B Pharm; MSc; MA)
Yohannes is a community pharmacist, health policy analyst and planning by training. He has worked in the NHS for over 17 years as a Senior Equality and Health Improvement Advisor. Since 1991 he has worked as the Head of Diversity and Equality and Community Development Strategy at Kensington Chelsea and Westminster Health Authority, PCT and North West London Strategic Health Authority. Over the years he has initiated and developed many specialist services for Refugees and BME communities in North West London which are now part of the mainstream services in North West London NHS services.
